Few
major British racedays now take place without the Racenews
Racecourse Service in operation. Whether at the John Smith's
Grand National, Vodafone Derby, the other Flat classics at
Epsom, Newmarket and Doncaster,
Royal Ascot,
Glorious |
Goodwood, the Chester May Meeting or the Cheltenham Festival, the
service is now an integral part of big racedays. |
The Racenews Racecourse Service first operated at the 1991 Grand
National and has evolved into a sophisticated service that issues a
stream of releases throughout the day, keeping the media and others
informed.
The service helps the media on and off |
course, and enables
racecourses to issue news through one official channel.
A number of
experienced freelance journalists join
the Racenews team to run the service.
The typical output includes racecourse news such as the going and
crowd figures, as well as comprehensive previews, reports, results and
quotes from trainers, jockeys and owners.
