Royal Ascot is not just Europe's highest-class Flat race meeting, it
is also one of the social and fashion highlights of the year. It
therefore attracts huge interest from the racing, sports and general
media.
Racenews is commissioned by Ascot Racecourse to produce six
hundred copies of a comprehensive Media Guide, produced and updated in
two editions prior to the meeting as well as being distributed to the
visiting media at Royal Ascot.
The near-100 page guide includes a wealth of statistics including
histories, past results, statistics and race entries for the racing
media, as well as wider information about Ascot Racecourse
geared towards more general press interest.
During Royal Ascot week, the Racenews Racecourse Service operates
on all five days with five experienced journalists producing releases
throughout the day, including comprehensive reports and quotes from
every race, plus the latest news from the course, ranging from who
will be accompanying the |
Queen in the Royal
Carriages to crowd figures. The news is distributed
to the several hundred journalists present, loaded onto Ascot's
website throughout the day, faxed and e-mailed. Most major
racecourses now employ Racenews during their major meetings,
recognising the importance of optimising coverage by helping the media
as well as issuing official news through one channel.
Ascot Racecourse also uses Racenews at its three-day King George VI
& Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes Meeting in July, Blue Square Shergar
Cup day in August, the three-day Festival in September and the two-day
Cantor Gold Cup in December. |
