Stanley Jackson has been
non-executive chairman of Racenews since June, 1998. He went
racing for the first time more than 50 years ago - at Redcar on
Tuesday, June 11, 1946 - and |
became one of
the most important modern-day figures in the racing industry.

A graduate of Edinburgh University, he spent 20 years in overseas
publishing including four years in South Africa, before becoming chief
executive of the Horseracing Advisory Council in September, 1980.
He was appointed managing director of the Racecourse Association in
July, 1989, and retired from full time work in spring, 1998.
He was chairman of Sports Corporate Research (SCORES) from 1998 to
2003. His principal interests are sports history and statistics,
recent history, arts and shopping.
